Resize ext2/ext3 filesystem

Overview

Find the partition to resize with mount.
Unmount the filesystem - resizing ext2/3 cannot be done when filesystem is mounted.
Use the resize2fs command.

Note: If you are trying to resize / (root filesystem), you are screwed.

Example

[root@mybox ~]# mount | grep share
/dev/mapper/datavg-datalv on /data type ext3 (rw)
[root@mybox ~]# umount /data
[root@mybox ~]# resize2fs /dev/mapper/datavg-datalv 13000M
[root@mybox ~]# mount /data

Note: Most of this can be done using the GUI.
